How We Met
We met the old-fashioned way; after many beers. In the fall of 2020, Abby had just moved to DC, and Matty was in his senior year at Georgetown. After landing at the same table at a bar (formerly a parking lot), the rest was history.
First Date
A week later, our first date was over steins of beer at The Berliner (RIP) on the Georgetown waterfront. Both of us were escorted to the date by our roommates—and from that point on, we never stopped dating.
Making it Official
Over bowls of ramen while Christmas shopping, we officially put a label on it.
Boston Bound
In 2021, we moved to Boston for Matty’s new job and to set the stage for Abby’s medical school applications.
The Worcester Era
Abby started medical school in Worcester, and Matty moved with her, providing unwavering support every step of the way.
The Engagement
Matty proposed in the Boston Public Garden on Abby’s birthday, surrounded by fall leaves. The celebration continued with a special dinner and later with friends at a favorite Beacon Hill pub.
